F1 2024 Emilia Romagna GP Review - Too Late for McLaren's Charge on Red Bull
F1 returned to Imola for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, a race which some considered exciting, and some... not so much. And what happened to Alonso and Albon to give them such disastrous weekends? Bryn Lucas chats with Jake Boxall-Legge and Alex Kalinauckas to understand all these questions and more.

F1 2024 Saudi Arabian GP Review - The Red Bull Machine Powers On
As a person who doesn’t like going backwards, producing noise sb on the builder. V8’s & 10’s were outdated then as they are now and they’re not necessary for noise; no manufacturer is going to make the investment on tech they’re trying to leave behind.
UPDATE: Pov 20th may 2024 Honda has won couple of championships.
Why do I feel like Aldi would be the kind of store to have Malboreto, Be On Edge and ? ? cigarettes?
I really hate these British commentators especially the max rider, Alex. One bad race, literally one bad race and “sergio Perez is on track to lose his seat”. When last races people were saying he is a sure shot in the seat. Ridiculous group of people.
Perez was on track to lose his seat more than a year ago. Also pundits just move with the flow of race weekends, how else would they ever create excitement?
You guys are jokes. First 6 races of the season: Perez is doing what he needs to do, doing a great job. One bad weekend and he should be replaced. You guys are worse than a nervous teenager on prom night
They are pundits and they are doing their job of stirring the pot
The Mercedes seems to get slower and slower as the weekend progresses
Mv don't care about senna...
Of course not, why would he? The man died way before he was born.
Verstappen drove the second (maybe even third) best car this weekend and won. He makes the different. I’m pretty sure he would have won the race in the McLaren. I think it’s very sad that those British bias every time again kills the analyses.
Said without an ounce of irony given your own bias
I agree with you.
2:10 - uhg. edge lord pessimists.. chao
Tsunoda not linked too a Red Bull seat and Ricciardo is? That really only is in British press. Marko has a very loudly outspoken preference for Yuki over Daniel. Danial is never a option for Red Bull. The thing that might hinder yuki is the fact he is very much tied to Honda and after 2026 they will not be there. If Perez keeps under performing Yuki might take over in 2026.
Ricciardo was hired for PR reasons indeed but I believe RB rather wants Lawson in that RB seat than either of the... What's that team called now? -drivers
Not a good race, Merc did a good job... The tow that helpt Max, what a load of BS.... You can better stop talking about F1... This is really bad...
What's the matter? Truth hurt you poor widdle Max fanboys?

Why are they so salty😂
Awesome Design 🔥
Has anyone tried to explain how Max Verstappen ran the race under a warning for track limits violations most of the way while track limits were mentioned for no other drivers? There was plenty of footage of other drivers going wide, but the only mistake made by Verstappen that was caught on camera was missing the second apex of a chicane by about a meter, putting him in the center of the track. There was much discussion of how this is a track that has now been configured to punish track limits violations, so the stewards don't need to. I'd love to know why the stewards threatened Max with something that should have been nothing.
This! In the final laps I watched Lando go over track limits atleast 7 times! Legit like 10 seconds worth of penalties and not a single warning for Lando, stewards are different from track to track, so its no surprise that the Italians are shady as fuck.
This comment section is all over the place
They're all right underneath the video, aren't they?
Marko is a racist. It’s not an opinion, he’s demonstrated it amply. The fact that RBR keeps Marko there tells you also a lot about their organization. Tsunoda needs to get out of Redbull land or accept his position. Regardless I think he continues to show maturity issues unbecoming an ambassador for a major team and will never go higher than where he is anyhow. Similar to K-Mag.
No hes not.. remember being mexican isnt a race
@@karl8805 excuse me for dropping in here.... wasn't the comment you reacted to about Tsunoda in this particular case and not so much about Pérez, despite the Marko gross and ignorant slip up last year about Mexican-latin american-south american mentality when speaking about Checo who is Mexican, Latin American but Mexico is not central or south America .
It Latin America though and nearly everyone mistakenly thinks it’s in Central America. Mark was most definitely speaking specifically about Checo. It was gross. He has also numerous times made references to the ‘European’ superiority, mentality, etc. Redbull had to be guilted into letting a driver go after he said racist things. If Marko worked for a Fortune 500 company he’d have been terminated. And yet…. So IMO no matter how good Yuki is, Marko would veto him. Marko’s job is to develop young drivers. And yet where are the results? He hasn’t had an impact in a decade. Again, reason to terminate. All he has is the favor of Jos Verstappen who is using Marko as a tool for grabbing power, blackmailing the team. Were it not for his inclusion in the Verstappen contract he would have been axed long ago.
@@SuperPassionflower Confusing Mexico for a country in South America is not that crazy of a mistake lol. Especially for an 80 year old from Austria its really not that big of a deal. Mexico has alot more similarities with their culture to countries in South America then they do to the countries in North America.
@@stevenst6337 thank you for your feedback, I am Dutch btw and tbh if I look at many posts/comments made on Dutch forums I see a horrific number of ignorant and flippant remarks being made on the topic of culture and nationality in relation to Checo. could be me, as individual, but I find it hard to digest whether it comes from an 80-year old Austrian influential person in F1 or mere punters and pundits from the old world Europe. Perhaps I also recognise it in a personal way as I hail from Dutch colonial descent (Indonesia) and it just doesn't gel with me. I am actually becoming more aware about the Mexican sense of pride (and hence the love for Checo) having seen the cinema film "Radical" last week. I understand your thought of Mexicans having more similarities culturally to south America than north America (geographically Mexico is n-A) but be aware that many south Americans apparently don't look favourably towards Mexicans, and I am learning and trying to find out why so I can understand better. The similarities I believe is in the concept of "latina" , hailing from Spanish speaking...

Peter Windsor said the data showed that Max would have gotten pole without Hulkenberg's tow.

Managed that 1st sector time twice.
The team gave it everything and should be proud of it. Not the result we were hoping for but getting a podium in our home race is always great 👏 Need to do a bit of work still to catch up. Keep pushing guys! Now full focus on Monaco! Forza Ferrari! 💪🇮🇹🐎
Good to see Alex has finally found himself & chopped off the old massive scruffy beard. Much cheaper than a gap year in Thailand that's for sure. What's next old boy...A mullet?
Amazing
love to see the energy in this pod! too many media outlets are always looking for something nice to say, if it was a bad race, say so!
loved JBL's coverage, legend!
What a hater rhis was not a horrible race... I thought it was what race should be... Cant watch any more of this idiot
Besides a director of photography (sometimes the car are shot in the shadow without proper corection), F1 needs to rethinks theirtv direction. Not only they cut to the crowd on crucial moments, but also they are cutting to obscure camera angles while something relevant is happening. ONe example is when they cut to the heil-cam and we spend the next five secons looking at tree tops. Plus, one annoying editing - parcitularly because it seems intentional - is to not to follow cars into the turn, then one doesnt see who prevail on the braking zone and the image only resumes 50 meteres ahead.
The worst for me, was when Lando was within 1.5 seconds and closing really rapidly, they cut to an replay of an Alpine overtaking for 13th, like seriously who gives a fuck about that replay?
Worst thing is still the incredible zoom and following of the cars so we cannot actually see them move over the track
That wind tunnel ruining both mercedes and aston martin 😂
The tedious guy with the funny hair has obviously never watched a Formula 1 race before. That's twas a really good race.
That was a snooze fest. Alex is 100% accurate.
@@1fastjetta I didn't fall asleep.
No it wasn't. I fell asleep twice.
Pirelli needs to develop tires where the drivers push the whole race
you might as well just say have them use the C1s all year round. that’s terrible.
Thatmight not be the problem. Part of the lack of 'push" thru the entire race is PU management. There were a fast tyre set - the softs. They just didnt add up when teams consider the extra pitstop and the additional strain on the PU of doing 30 quali laps during the race, particularly ewhen the end final position would not be too different from a conservative strategy. TAke Ferrari - if they couldnt figure out a 2 stops strategy to secure two podium place, why would the other teams fare better?
@@mustavogaia2655 PU management might be the problem as you have stated. Then we are going in the wrong direction for 2026 with 50% power developed by the battery 🔋
@@mustavogaia2655 the race cars are too heavy. The PU era has been awful. Look at the previous era with the v8 and v10, the cars were dancing in the corners. They were on grooved tires and still performed
@@davideg5947so what, F1 has mostly been a bore .... with dominant eras m9st of the time. Seems that everytime we will have 2 to 3 team to fight, rules will change again. The cars are 10x more secure now, I prefer some weight than drivers dying.
Calling it fan assumptions when its just one long shell ad💀
No
why not use wankel engines they last forever, dont guzzle, 750hp, good sound and then just make the car 500kg
"lando you need to come home" and lando getting all flustered and nervous after rhat?? Brooooo--
He was brilliant to watch!
F1 Legend.

This regulation could also be a small step towards an even newer future redesign, they could consider many of the following changes: v angle (60, 72, 90), engine layout (i4, i5, i6, ,vr6, v6, v8, v10, v12, w12), forced induction (na, turbo, twin turbo, compound turbo, supercharging, twin charging), valve control & number (vvt, vvl, camless, 4+), engine & piston material (cgi, other new/exotic alloy, steel, forged, cast), compression ratio (any), fuel injector (number, number of holes), spark plug (number or none at all, material), transmisson (cvt, dct). I think there's actually many design changes that could be provided towards the manufacturer to design the engines that they would like, and also engine design evolve constantly (1900s i4 were quite rightly different than 2020s i4).
Jordan 191 is for me
You've been doing these youtube videos for quite a while now. You'd think you would of invested in a decent microphone. Sounds like your in a bloody cupboard
Basing their decision on sustainable fuels? Unless they plan to gaslight everyone, those "sustainable" fuels will still be emitting green house gases, regardless if they offset emissions. Emissions offsetting is not the silver bullet. This only matters if F1 is really concerned with zero emissions, which based on their partnerships, some could doubt it.
Honest to bloody god. There’s a lot of us that do not give a flying mouse crap about the noise. I want the fastest thing on the track regardless of how it looks or sounds. It’s F1 for pity sake. I want the best driver in the best car. People need to be more vocal about the important things. If I started complaining about why women don’t look more like Scarlett Johansen I’d be bollocked. C’mon ffs.
What can we see? More rain.
The best driver of all time.
Can't make the cars lighter by making a b line for becoming an FE-lite spec series. These new regs will be a massive L. WECs ruleset on the otherhand invites innovation and much less restrictive engine rules like F1 used to be attracting many more manufacturers. The fuel will be completely synthetic yet they're still pushing electric. F1 has lost the plot. It's become a fancy spec series.
Now I'm really hungry for Pasta Pomodoro 😅
TOLEMAN TG183B?
They should have never been changed to hybrid engines F1 has not been the same since
Speaking of improvements in noise, nice new voiceover Autosport have got 👌
I’d rather a V10 the best sound ever to come from an f1 car.
Onions known, good stuff.
A V6 will never sound like a V10.
Why does F1 need sustainable fuel? Doesn’t the whole sport all season use less fuel than a flight from New York to London? (or something like that)
Yes we will
